This LinkedIn article does a nice job of outlining the changing recruiting landscape.  We strongly agree that increasing candidate engagement is a critical component of recruiting success.  Gone are the days of sending generic emails, Inmails, etc. and expecting to receive a positive response. Recruiters must invest time to interact with and become acquainted with candidates on the candidates’ terms.   With an incredibly tight labor market, recruiters need candidates much more then candidates need us!

Many recruiting techniques and strategies that worked just a few years ago are no longer successful today.  The millennial generation is now the largest generation in the workforce and they aren’t responding favorably to old school recruiting tactics.  Today’s talent acquisition professionals must be wiling to adapt and change with the times. Effective Story-telling, using data to drive sourcing strategies and the willingness to utilize new technologies are all necessary steps talent acquisition professionals must take in 2020 and beyond.
